Statement in Solidarity with NYC Nurses

The Filipino American Democratic Club of New York stands in unwavering solidarity with nearly 15,000 nurses across New York City who are on strike to protect patient and nurse safety.

For months, nurses have bargained in good faith for fair contracts that include enforceable safe staffing ratios, healthcare benefits, and protections from workplace violence. Hospital management’s refusal to meet these demands has led to this moment.

Filipino nurses have long been foundational to New York City’s healthcare system. Their demands are reasonable, necessary, and directly tied to patient safety.

Hospital leadership must reach a fair agreement without delay. New York’s healthcare system depends on the nurses who sustain it.

We stand with NYC nurses.
